Blood is a very important liquid that flows through our bodies. It has four main parts that work together to keep us healthy:
1. Plasma
This is the yellowish liquid part of the blood.
It carries nutrients, water, and waste materials to and from different parts of the body.
2. Red Blood Cells
These cells give blood its red colour.
They carry oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body and remove carbon dioxide.
3. White Blood Cells
These cells help to fight germs and protect the body from diseases.
They are like the soldiers of the body.
4. Platelets
Platelets help the blood to clot (stop bleeding) when you get a cut or injury.
They form a scab to protect the wound while it heals.
